Long was a particular standout for his funny turn as a man trying to unload hundreds of household products he has accumulated, in addition to a more serious scene in which Long plays a gay man anxious to sell the mattress shared by him and his recently unfaithful partner.

Derek Long in "Sweet Texas Reckoning"

Derek Long performs in a new play, Sweet Texas Reckoning, that premiered this week at The Garage Theatre in Long Beach, CA. In a recent OC Register review, Eric Marchese said: "Long’s A.J. is a rambunctious good-old-boy with an irrepressible love of life, but when the scenario he desires begins to slip from his grasp, he shows surprising wellsprings of affection and dignity."
